‘Twas the night before school…

Twas the night before school,

and all through the house.

A chaos of sounds rang out and about…

where’s my shoes? where’s my shirt? where’s my shorts? where’s my mouse?

The backpacks were packed by the front door with care,

all loaded with stuff, loaded with care.

With a ring of the bell, the kids sprung out of bed…

(except for sweet Suzie, still resting her head.)

They gobbled up breakfast, brushed teeth and hair,

tied up their new shoes, and ran down the stairs.

As they hopped in the van, and as it rode out of site,

“Only two days til Friday, then we can stay up all night.”
