Cell made out of food

Cell Kenzo had to make a "cell" out of food. I just do not understand all this new math science these kids are studying these days.

So for her project, she had to use food items to demonstrate all the parts of a cell. She chose to use a chocolate cake as the main part of the cell and then use different candies to show all the various parts of the cell. I think the decision to use the teeny-tiny golf flags to identify the cell parts was her idea.

My favorite was her plentiful use of Mike and Ike to represent the mitochondria. She used a bunch of the Mike and Ike because, as she so aptly pointed out, "You can never have enough mitochondria."

Indeed…I guess…

  1. My 4th grader has been assigned the same thing, except they don’t have to make it out of food. They can, but, they can use anything. I hate stuff like this. I have no idea what to do. This is a great idea and we might steal it. Not steal, “borrow.”
    I dig the cake cell.

  2. “borrowing” is the sincerest form of flattery….Kenzo would be honored…

  3. i have to do this project in 5 grade i have no idea what to do too. i’m doin an animal cell.
