Answer me this…

Pointing Why is it that when baseball players, or basketball players, or football players, or soccer or hockey or lacrosse or horseshoes or rec-league softball player…really any kind of competitive player…why is it that when they do something well they immediately do the "point up to God" gesture?

As in, "God helped me do that. Yeah for him…see how humble I am…"

How come then, when the same players strike-out or fumble or whatever else they could do to mess up we don’t see them do the "God helped me do that" gesture.

I am pretty sure that God is in everything, so it just strikes me as odd that players tend to do "the God point" when everyone is cheering, but not when things are bad.

Any thoughts?

  1. Because God is looked at as a positive influence not a negative one.
