Kenzo pulled out for summer camp this morning. With a group of about 50 other kids from church, they are hooking up with several hundred other kids as part of CentriKid camps.
This is Kenzo’s second year so not nearly the same level of wailing and gnashing of teeth (from us, not her…) about going away. Last year we had the whole forgetting to call home for a week issue, so clearly she was not homesick.
It’s just that she is getting is getting so darn old, so fast. At breakfast this morning we talked about politics (republicans vs. democrats, and adoption of a national language) at the church while dropping her off I wanted to linger a heartbeat longer while hugging her good-bye, and then she trotted off with the "going into fifth grade girls" group.
It all became clear when I was helping her set her watch this morning. I was looking through the directions and saw that there was a stopwatch that you could pause…sometimes I wish the girls had a "pause button." I know we can’t stop them getting older…I just wish it would slow down a bit.
